Crystal Palace and Manchester United failed to break the deadlock as their Premier League match ended in a goalless stalemate.

The Eagles made a dominant start and Yannick Bolasie fired a strike against the bar, before Wayne Hennessey rushed quickly off his line to deny Wayne Rooney.

Scott Dann, Yohan Cabaye and Bolasie then had chances to win the match for Palace in the second half, but they could not find a way through as the clash finished all square.

Goal

Wayne Hennessey: Made a good save to deny Rooney's free kick, before rushing quickly off his line to save at the feet of the England captain minutes later. (7/10)

Defence

Joel Ward: Solid performance from the full-back, who was not given too many problems down his side of the pitch. He also got forward well in support of his teammates and set up Cabaye for a chance that the midfielder put wide. (7/10)

Scott Dann: Composed display from the centre-back, who almost snatched a late winner for Palace with a header that went inches wide of the post. (7/10)

Damien Delaney: Another solid performance from an Eagles defender. He was well positioned at the back and made vital interceptions throughout the match. (7/10)

Martin Kelly: Struggled against Martial and was booked in the first half for a foul on the Frenchman. Changed flanks with Ward for a period at the start of the second half and fared slightly better. (5/10)

Midfield

Yohan Cabaye: The Frenchman showed some neat touches on his return to action and delivered some dangerous set pieces, but he struggled to really impose himself on the match. (6/10)

James McArthur: Decent showing from the Scot in the centre of the pitch, who made some important tackles and helped out in front of his back four. (6/10)

Jason Puncheon: Worked hard for his team throughout the match and looked to get forward at every chance, without ever really having a clear sight of goal. (6/10)

Attack

Yannick Bolasie: The Congo international was the home side's best player. He was a constant menace down both flanks all afternoon and came close to scoring early on with a powerful effort that smashed against the bar. (8/10)

Wilfried Zaha: Proved a handful for Darmian down the left with his pace and direct running. He also helped create a number of promising openings for his side in a lively display. (7/10)

Dwight Gayle: Had a chance inside the first minute to score when his attempt was saved by De Gea, before being denied by the keeper after the break. The striker also put in plenty of effort in closing down United's back four throughout the match. (7/10)

Substitutes

Mile Jedinak: Brought on to replace the tiring Cabaye to shore up the midfield for the final 10 minutes. (6/10)

MANCHESTER UNITED

Goal

David de Gea: Outstanding display from the Spaniard who made a number of vital saves. He tipped a singing effort from Bolasie onto the bar and touched over a header from Dann moments later. He also saved late on from Gayle, as his side clung on for a point. (8/10)

Defence

Marcos Rojo: Had a much better game than his opposite full-back Darmian, but was beaten for pace by Bolasie a number of times in the second half. (6/10)

Chris Smalling: Dealt well with the threat from the visitors after being put under heavy pressure from the start. He also made some crucial blocks and interceptions and his positioning was generally assured. (7/10)

Daley Blind: Brought in for Jones to partner Smalling and was also given a huge test by Palace. However, he was strong in the challenge and was vital in helping his side to hold on at the end. (7/10)

Matteo Darmian: The Italian looked nervous from the opening minute and gave the ball away cheaply on more than one occasion. He was given a torrid afternoon by Zaha, and was finally taken off by his manger after being booked for a foul on the winger. (5/10)

Midfield

Morgan Schneiderlin: Saw plenty of the ball in the heart of the midfield and rarely misplaced a pass. He also won each of his tackles and helped to ease the pressure on the United defence. (7/10)

Bastian Schweinsteiger: The German enjoyed a lot of possession and chose his passes wisely throughout the match. His decision making was spot on and he was always reliable whenever he was on the ball. (7/10)

Ander Herrera: Had a decent chance at the end of the opening period when his low strike was blocked, but failed to make a real impact and was fortunate not to be booked in the second half, after appearing to dive for a penalty. (6/10)

Juan Mata: Struggled to get on the ball in the first half and was forced back deeper than he would have liked. He showed more promise after the break, but was eventually replaced late on by Lingard. (6/10)

Anthony Martial: Mixed display from the exciting Frenchman. He did cause Kelly a lot of problems down the left throughout the match and slipped Roooney through on goal with a wonderful pass, but was kept quiet for large spells. (6/10)

Attack

Wayne Rooney: The England captain had his team's best chances of the game. He forced Hennessey into a save from a free kick, before the keeper rushed out to claim at his feet. Those were his most dangerous moments, as he largely struggled to link up with his teammates. (6/10)

Substitutes

Ashley Young: Brought on to replace the struggling Darmian at right-back and produced a confident and calming display that helped ease the pressure his team were coming under. (7/10)

Marouane Fellaini: Replaced Schweinsteiger in the second half to help his team out as they came under increasing threat from the Eagles. (6/10)

Jesse Lingard: Looked lively when he came on for Mata and showed a few glimpses of skill with some dangerous runs down the right flank. (6/10)
