Pep Guardiola praises the mental strength of his Manchester City side to comfortably overcome Arsenal 3-0 for the second time in five days.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described his side's display against Arsenal as "outstanding" after earning a convincing 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

The Citizens ticked off another game on their way to a third Premier League crown, making light work of the Gunners for the second time in five days.

Having also dismantled their opponents 3-0 at Wembley in the EFL Cup final at the weekend, Guardiola was pleased to see his players push on 10 miles east to move 16 points clear of Manchester United at the top of the table.

"Mentally we were strong. We were clinical. We scored three outstanding goals," he told BBC Sport. "After that it was not easy - the first 15 minutes of the second half we were poor. Still, it's an amazing result for us.

"We are out of the FA Cup and we won the League Cup. Now it's just two competitions and you fight for one of them for 10 months. These are the last steps to be champions, you keep going until the end.

"We have to win five games. We don't think too much. Now we play Chelsea. Hopefully we have the desire to win, to be the best team in England. We forget that we are tired."

Following Sunday's home match against Chelsea, Man City then turn their attention to the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Basel.
