Scott Sinclair says that Manchester City need to move on after being eliminated from Europe.

Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has admitted that being knocked out of Europe is "difficult to take" for his side.

The Premier League champions lost 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, having already been eliminated, and finished bottom of Group D.

Their final position means that City also failed to qualify for the Europa League, but Sinclair insists that his side must move on.

"It was very disappointing, I think most of the boys will be going home feeling that," said Sinclair.

"Now we've got to move on, concentrate on the league and make sure we do better in that. It's difficult to take. When we play in the Champions League we want to win and get through. Everyone's going to be disappointed that we didn't but all we can do now is push on.

"It's great for me that I've made my [Champions League] debut, but it's not great that we've lost and didn't get through. Hopefully next year we can get back in."

City host Manchester United on Sunday in the Premier League.
