Leicester City are reportedly showing interest in full-back Ryan Bertrand, who will leave Southampton this summer when his contract expires on June 30.

Leicester City have reportedly identified Ryan Bertrand as a summer transfer target, with the full-back set to leave Southampton on June 30.

After 29 Premier League appearances for the 31-year-old this season, in which time he provided one assist, Bertrand announced on May 12 that he would depart St Mary's when his contract expires this summer.

Signing a left-back is believed to be a top priority for Brendan Rodgers in the coming months, with players including Robin Gosens and Nuno Mendes on the potential list for the Foxes.

According to Sky Sports News, Rodgers's relationship with Bertrand from their Chelsea days could be a deciding factor in agreeing a deal and the 31-year-old's experience could be of use to young Leicester full-back Luke Thomas.

The Midlands side tend to sign young players with potential, shown in the signing of Wesley Fofana, but with Christian Fuchs's departure from the King Power Stadium the club may opt for a more experienced player in Bertrand to help develop their own academy product in Thomas.

Bertrand arrived at Southampton in 2015 and has gone on to make 240 appearances for the club, providing 20 assists and scoring eight goals.
