Half-Time Report: Leeds United and Birmingham City goalless at Elland Road

Leeds and Birmingham both have chances at Elland Road but cannot break the stalemate as they enter the break goalless.

Both Leeds United and Birmingham City failed to take their first-half chances as they entered the break at Elland Road 0-0.

The two sides are in contrasting form, with Leeds unbeaten in their last six matches while Birmingham are without a win four.

It was an even first half in Yorkshire, with Lee Clark's visiting Blues having the better of the early action.

Promising winger Nathan Redmond dragged a shot wide from a good position before testing Whites stopper Paddy Kenny with another effort moments later.

The sought-after talent then set up captain Curtis Davies to send his close-range header wastefully over the crossbar.

Leeds's best efforts unsurprisingly came through Luciano Becchio, who called Blues keeper Jack Butland into action with a low shot and headed narrowly wide later in the period.

The England Under-21 international also denied Rudolph Austin and Michael Tonge as Leeds came into the ascendancy, but they could not break the deadlock before the interval.
