Preview: Kasimpasa vs. Umraniyespor - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Kasimpasa and Umraniyespor, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Kasimpasa welcome Umraniyespor to Istanbul for a huge clash at the bottom in Turkey early on Saturday.

The visitors enter the weekend still at the foot of the Super Lig table, but they are showing promising signs.

Match preview

Both sides enter the weekend in the relegation zone after the league has now technically become a 17-team league, meaning these two are among the bottom four sides still competing.

Kasimpasa sit in the final of those four relegation spots after a narrow 1-0 defeat to league leaders Galatasaray last weekend.

It was a spirited effort against an unstoppable side who are running away with the title, but manager Selcuk Inan must ensure his side keep their performances levels high here in an important relegation six-pointer.

That defeat was their fifth in a row on the road though, so they may be glad to be back on home soil for this encounter where they have enjoyed much more success of late.

Back-to-back wins on their own patch against Antalyaspor and Giresunspor saw them score eight goals as they comfortably dismantled both opponents with consummate ease.

Umraniyespor have given themselves a renewed sense of optimism that they can survive in their debut top-flight season.

Two fantastic results in their last two games against Adana Demirspor and Trabzonspor brought them four unlikely points as they edge closer to the sides above them.

Losing five in succession before the season was interrupted by the earthquake in the country saw Umraniyespor almost become cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

However, a draw with European-chasing Demirspor was hard earned, as Larry Kayode's 90th-minute equaliser pegged their opponents back.

Recep Ucar's side followed that up with a sensational win away to current reigning champions Trabzonspor two weeks ago in their last outing in one of the shocks of the season.

The gap currently stands at four points between themselves and safety, and being the highest scorers in the bottom eight suggests they have the firepower to move up the table.

Team News

Kasimpasa will be able to call upon the services of Valentin Eysseric once again for this one after the French midfielder served a suspension against Galatasaray.

Florent Hadergjonaj returned to the pitch in that game, playing 18 minutes, so the Kosovan full-back could reclaim his place at right-back.

Mickael Tirpan will miss this one through suspension for the hosts.

Umraniyespor have a fully fit squad to choose from with no suspension concerns either.

They are likely to remain unchanged following such a brilliant result last time out away in Trabzon.

Converted wing-back Valentin Gheorghe is one booking away from a ban, like his defensive partner Tomislav Glumac.

Kasimpasa possible starting lineup:
Guvenc; Hadergjonaj, Donk, Djilobodji, Ozcan; Fall, Hajradinovic, Malsa, Eysseric; Chouiar, Koita

Umraniyespor possible starting lineup:
Ozdemir; Gheorghe, Eser, Glumac, Epureanu, Atasayar; Geraldo, Gurbulak, Mrsic, Sekidika; Nayir

We say: Kasimpasa 2-2 Umraniyespor

In just the third-ever competitive meeting between the sides, the away side on the day has won both previous encounters, so Kasimpasa will hope they can buck that trend.

Their solid home form suggests they can, but Umraniyespor are strong in attack so may cause them problems.
