Team News: Mohamed Diame returns for Hull City

Midfielder Mohamed Diame returns to the Hull City lineup for the Championship game with Preston North End after featuring in the League Cup win over Rochdale in midweek.

Midfielder Mohamed Diame returns to the Hull City lineup for the Championship game with Preston North End after featuring in the League Cup win over Rochdale in midweek.

Diame takes the place of Tom Huddlestone in midfield, while Sam Clucas and Abel Hernandez are also brought in to replace Sone Aluko and Nikica Jelavic.

Shaun Maloney, signed yesterday from Chicago Fire for an undisclosed fee, is on the Tigers bench alongside Huddlestone and Aluko.

For Preston, there is still no place for the injured Jermaine Beckford so Paul Gallagher and Joe Garner continue up front, but Jordan Hugill and Will Keane return to the bench after suspension and injury respectively.

Hull City: McGregor; Odubajo, Dawson, Davies, Robertson; Meyler, Diame, Clucas, Elmohamady; Hernandez, Akpom
Subs: Jakupovic, Bruce, Hayden, Huddlestone, Maloney, Aluko, Luer

Preston North End: Pickford; Clarke, Woods, Huntington, Wright; Welsh, Kilkenny, Johnson, Humphrey; Gallagher, Garner
Subs: Kirkland, Vermijl, Brownhill, Browne, Reid, Keane, Hugill
