League Two roundup: Gillingham move clear at the top

Sports Mole looks back over the main incidents from all the action in League Two.

A slender 1-0 victory over Accrington Stanley has resulted in Gillingham opening up an eight-point lead at the summit of the League Two table this afternoon.

In a game of few chances, a strike from Matt Fish was enough for Martin Allen's team to collect all three points at the Priestfield Stadium.

With both Port Vale and Burton Albion having seen their matches postponed, Northampton Town were able to close the gap on the automatic promotion slots courtesy of a 1-0 win over Oxford United.

Ben Harding scored the only goal of that game as he turned in a cross from Chris Hackett, who had previously spent seven years with Oxford.

Down at the bottom, Torquay United recorded a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers York City. Among the goals for the Devon-based outfit was Ryan Jarvis.

Meanwhile, Dagenham & Redbridge still remain in relegation trouble following their 2-1 defeat away at Fleetwood Town. Medy Elito put the visiting Daggers in front early on, but goals from Junior Brown and Gareth Evans sealed all three points for the hosting Seasiders.

League Two results in full: AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Morecambe; Barnet 0-0 Cheltenham; Fleetwood 2-1 Dagenham; Gillingham 1-0 Accrington; Northampton 1-0 Oxford; Torquay 2-1 York
