Preview: England vs. Chile

Sports Mole looks ahead to Friday night's clash between England and Chile at Wembley.

Friday's home clash with Chile will be England's first outing since they qualified for next year's World Cup courtesy of a 2-0 win over Poland.

In preparation for the tournament, manager Roy Hodgson has called up Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez, both of whom could make their debuts against the South Americans.

However, a number of players will be absent because of injuries, including captain Steven Gerrard, Kyle Walker, Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck.

Hodgson has also been tipped to give a chance to goalkeeper Fraser Forster, with Joe Hart likely to drop down to the bench.

Meanwhile, Chile's Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has been rated as a doubt for the clash because of a thigh complaint that he picked up against Napoli.

When these two sides last met, Marcelo Salas scored both goals as visiting Chile recorded a 2-0 victory at Wembley.
