Crystal Palace land free agent Shola Ameobi

Alan Pardew has reunited with striker Shola Ameobi at Crystal Palace by landing the former Newcastle United favourite on a free contract.

Crystal Palace have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of free agent Shola Ameobi.

The former Newcastle United forward has joined the Eagles until the end of the season, having ended his six-month spell with Turkish club Gaziantep.

Ameobi is reunited with former boss Alan Pardew, his manager at St James' Park, and joins Jordon Mutch in linking up with the South London outfit this afternoon.

Palace have also signed Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on loan this month, and it is reported that they could delve back into the market before the window closes on Monday.
