Nile Ranger: 'Blackpool move is my last chance'

Nile Ranger vows to put an end to his controversial off-field behaviour after acknowledging that Blackpool have given him his "last chance" to forge a successful career.

Nile Ranger has vowed to put an end to his bad-boy behaviour after acknowledging that Blackpool have given him his "last chance" to forge a successful career.

The 23-year-old striker has seen his spells at Newcastle United and Swindon Town marred by a series of often controversial off-field indiscretions.

However, troubled Championship side Blackpool have put their faith in Ranger, signing him on a one-year contract, and he has insisted that he is ready to "knuckle down" and completely cut out his ill-discipline.

"This isn't a good chance for me – it's my last chance, so I have to grab it with both hands," Ranger told the Blackpool Gazette.

"This is my actual last chance – I've had more lives than a cat. I was young and I made mistakes but you learn.

"Now it's time to grow up. I need to knuckle down and get my head screwed on. All the off-field behaviour has finished now, it's over."

Ranger made his Seasiders debut as a late substitute in their 2-1 defeat to Brentford on Tuesday evening.
