Charlie Nicholas urges Arsenal to meet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang demands

Former player Charlie Nicholas says that Arsenal should meet the contract demands of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the coming months.

Charlie Nicholas has suggested that Arsenal should give in to the contract demands of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

At a time when the Gunners are struggling to qualify for the Champions League, Aubameyang has just over a year left on his deal, leading to hesitation over fresh terms being agreed at the Emirates Stadium.

Rather than risk losing the Gabon international on a free transfer in 2021, Nicholas feels that club officials should be prepared to hand the 30-year-old an improved contract.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Nicholas said: "As an Arsenal man, I would give him the contract he desires. You give him a three or four-year deal and you give him what he wants.

"Because you can sell him next summer if he still wants to leave but then you get your value for money. I don't see the point of running down contracts."

Aubameyang has been linked with a summer switch to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
