Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.

Arsenal will be aiming to win their fifth game on the bounce in all competitions when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium for Thursday's Premier League encounter.

The Gunners needed extra time to overcome Newcastle United in the FA Cup, but the defending champions eventually got the job done courtesy of goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a 2-0 win.

Mikel Arteta has also witnessed his side triumph over Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks, with any murmurs of relegation being quashed as they lie 11th in the table after 17 matches.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their midweek showdown with Crystal Palace.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury-plagued Gabriel Martinelli just cannot catch a break at the moment; he was named in the starting lineup for the visit of Newcastle before spraining his ankle in the warm up. Mikel Arteta conceded that the injury does not look good, and the Brazilian attacker could now be set for another spell on the sidelines.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Gabriel Magalhaes announced on social media that he was back and ready for action after recovering from coronavirus, but he did not make the squad for Saturday's FA Cup game. The defender is expected to be given the green light to face Palace, though.

Thomas Partey

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Gabriel's fellow summer arrival Thomas Partey is edging ever closer towards a return, but Arteta opted not to risk him for the Newcastle game. The Gunners boss has expressed optimism over Partey's availability for this one, revealing that the midfielder is looking "really good".

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for their game with Palace. Smith Rowe was initially sent off against Newcastle for a challenge on Sean Longstaff, but the red card was downgraded to a yellow after a VAR check.
