Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has said that he has told Adam Maher's current club AZ Alkmaar that his side are not interested in signing the midfielder.
Maher has attracted interest from the Premier League as well as Ajax, but Overmars has now made it clear that a move to the latter is not about to happen.
"I have called Adam and his agent Sigi Lens to tell them we will make other choices," Overmars told De Telegraaf.
"I have also informed AZ that we are no longer interested."
Maher has scored 12 goals in 66 league games for AZ since joining the AZ first team in 2010.
