Pete Samparas: 'No drug taking in tennis'

Pete Sampras believes that it is not in most tennis players' "nature" to take performance-enhancing drugs.

Fourteen-time Grand Slam winner Pete Sampras believes that tennis players are not involved in the doping culture.

Sport around the world has come under scrutiny following the revelations that American cyclist Lance Armstrong took performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career, which included seven Tour de France victories.

"I don't think players are that sophisticated in tennis," BBC Sport quotes Sampras as saying. "It's not their culture. I don't think it's in their nature."

Australian sport was recently rocked with evidence of widespread doping.
