The French Open fourth-round match between Roger Federer and Gael Monfils has been suspended due to bad light, with the match finely poised at one set each.

Federer won the first three games of set one and held serve throughout to take the first set 6-3.

Monfils bounced back before the close of play, breaking in game two of the second set. He had the chance to close out the set in game nine, but Federer broke back. Monfils then broke again to take the second set 6-4.

The match will resume at 10am on Monday.
