Warren Gatland: 'Team for England match already chosen'

Warren Gatland says that places for his side against England are not up for grabs against Uruguay, suggesting that he already knows his team for the Twickenham clash.

Wales manager Warren Gatland has suggested that he has already picked his team for the crunch Rugby World Cup Pool A match against England.

The Red Dragons face an opener against Uruguay at Millennium Stadium on Sunday ahead of the clash with Stuart Lancaster's side at Twickenham on Saturday, October 26.

Gatland has left out players such as Alun Wyn Jones, George North, Taulupe Faletau and Dan Biggar for this weekend's match and hinted that he already knew his side for the home nations contest.

Asked by reporters if places in the team to face England were up for grabs against Uruguay, he replied: "Not really, no.

"It is not disrespecting Uruguay in any way. The first priority is to win and I think that we have got to put a lot of focus into these first two games.

"We will be endeavouring first to win the game and, after that, potentially scoring points."

Pool A sees three rugby union heavyweights face each other, with Wales and England likely to be competing with Australia for two places in the knockout round.
