Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly looking to add Shanghai SIPG winger Wu Lei to their squad in the near future.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Shanghai SIPG winger Wu Lei as a possible signing.

The newly-promoted Premier League side are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, and it appears that owners Fosun International are keen to bring in a high-profile player from China.

According to the Express & Star, Wolves are expected to make an approach for Wu at some point in the near future, although the 26-year-old is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury.

Wu is Shanghai SIPG's all-time record appearance-maker and goalscorer, having scored 155 goals in 328 appearances with a further 11 goals from 52 outings for China.

The attacker has spent his entire professional career with Shanghai but has previously stated that he wishes to play in Europe at some point in his career.
