Half-Time Report: Yeovil Town holding Wigan Athletic

Wigan Athletic and Yeovil Town play out a goalless first half in their Championship clash at the DW Stadium despite the hosts being awarded a penalty.

Wigan Athletic missed a penalty in the first half of their Championship clash with Yeovil Town this evening before going into the break all square at 0-0.

The match started slowly but soon provided a major talking point when Nick Powell went down in the box under the challenge of Matteo Lanzoni.

Referee Andy D'Urso pointed to the spot, but Jordi Gomez could not convert from 12 yards, being denied by a fine stop from Marek Stech.

The hosts continued to press for an opening goal in the closing stages of the half, but chances were few and far between for both sides.

As thing stand, the Latics will see their eight-match winning streak come to an end, while Yeovil will remain in the bottom three having played their game in hand over 21st-placed Millwall.
