A late Steve Morison header secured all three points for Norwich in a 2-1 win over West Brom on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City moved into ninth in the league table after a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

It was Norwich who began the match the stronger and they might have taken the lead after just eight minutes when Andrew Surman whipped in a dangerous cross, but Simon Cox cleared the danger.

West Brom looked a threat on the counter, however, and Peter Odemwingie might have done better with an effort after 14 minutes.

James Morrison was next to go close for the home side but his effort was cleared off the line by Surman, before Norwich opened the scoring very much against the run of play.

The goal came courtesy of Surman who produced a clinical finish after 43 minutes having been found by Wes Hoolahan inside the Baggies' area.

It was almost two for Norwich just before the hour mark when Simeon Jackson found himself unmarked in the area, but Ben Foster pushed the ball to safety.

West Brom drew the tie level, however, after Daniel Ayala brought down Jerome Thomas in the area and Shane Long stepped up to fire the penalty home.

Norwich were not finished, however, and found the winner after 79 minutes when Steve Morison headed home a Grant Holt cross to secure all the points for the away side.

West Brom will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Stoke next weekend, while Norwich host Chelsea.
