Marco Silva in running to replace Alan Pardew at West Bromwich Albion?

Former Watford boss Marco Silva is now regarded as the bookmakers' favourite to replace Alan Pardew at West Bromwich Albion.

Former Watford boss Marco Silva has emerged as the bookmakers' favourite to replace Alan Pardew in the dugout at West Bromwich Albion.

Pardew only arrived at The Hawthorns in November, but the Baggies have won just one of their last 13 matches in the top flight and now sit seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League table.

The West Midlands side have also had to deal with the fallout from four of their players - Jonny Evans, Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill - stealing a taxi during a club trip to Barcelona, with Pardew still selecting Evans and Barry for the FA Cup defeat to Southampton on Saturday.

Pardew is allegedly no more than two bad results away away from being removed from his position in the dugout, and bookmakers have moved to make Silva the even-money favourite for the role.

Silva was sacked by Watford in January, but the Portuguese remains highly-regarded in English football and has since been linked with replacing Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

West Brom are next in action on Saturday when they host Huddersfield Town.
