Marco Silva remains tight-lipped on speculation linking Watford with a move for Islam Slimani, whose Leicester City career looks to be coming to an end.

Watford boss Marco Silva has insisted that transfer speculation can wait until the window opens for business, having been strongly linked with a move for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani

According to a report in the Algerian press, the Hornets have submitted a loan bid with the option of taking the 29-year-old on permanently in the summer.

Slimani is badly out of favour at the King Power Stadium and is said to be open to plying his trade elsewhere, but Silva would not confirm if Watford are among those to have shown an interest.

"I don't want to talk about January, and the market," he told reporters. "We have a lot of games to play, we need to keep focusing on our games. We are working and analysing our squad as well, and we'll see what we can do in January."

Slimani, who has previously worked under Silva at Sporting Lisbon, is also said to have attracted interest from Newcastle United, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion.
