Report: Valencia lead Andre Carillo race

A report claims that Valencia currently lead the race for Sporting Lisbon attacker Andre Carillo, who as it stands will be out of contract next summer.

Valencia are reportedly at the head of the queue for Sporting Lisbon attacker Andre Carillo, whose contract with his Portuguese club is due to expire next summer.

The 24-year-old, who scored seven times and registered 16 assists last season, joined Sporting from Alianza Lima in 2011 and has made more than 150 appearances for his current team.

Sporting are understood to be desperate to tie the Peruvian to a new contract, but have thus far been frustrated in their attempts.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring developments, but according to O Jogo, Valencia currently lead the race and could make their move in the January transfer window.

Carillo has made six appearances for Sporting so far this season, scoring twice.
