Valencia continue to struggle in La Liga as they fall to a 5-2 defeat at home to Real Sociedad.

Real Sociedad have beaten 10-man Valencia 5-2 at the Mestalla this evening.

It was the hosts who took the lead in the second minute through Roberto Soldado, who tapped in Juan Bernat's cross from close range.

However, the game swung the game in Sociedad's favour when Jonas received his marching orders for a foul on David Zurutuza in the 41st minute.

It did not take long for the visitors to make their numerical advantage count as Alberto de la Bella raced onto Zurutuza's through ball before slotting past Diego Alves just two minutes later.

Los Che still threatened after the break, but fell behind when Mikel Gonzalez buried his close-range header in the 56th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for Mauricio Pellegrino's men when Diego Ifran capped a fast breakaway to put Sociedad in a commanding position.

Soldado restored hope for the home side in the 73rd minute, but goals from Carlos Vela an Imanol Agirretxe sealed all three points for Sociedad, lifting them into seventh place.

Meanwhile, Valencia struggle down in 12th.
