Sam Allardyce open to offers for Costel Pantilimon, Vito Mannone

Goalkeepers Costel Pantilimon and Vito Mannone may leave Sunderland this month, admits manager Sam Allardyce.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has conceded that he will listen to any bids that come in for the club's two most senior goalkeepers.

Allardyce has handed opportunities between the posts to Costel Pantilimon and Vito Mannone since he took charge at the Stadium of Light in October, but both have made mistakes.

Young custodian Jordan Pickford has also recently returned to Wearside following a loan stint with Preston North End and with that in mind, the Black Cats boss hinted that the England Under-21 international has moved ahead of the duo in the pecking order.

"What does [Pickford's return] say to Costel and Vito? More pressure, perform better," Allardyce told reporters.

"Somebody else is knocking on their door now. I don't what will happen, but I know Pickford won't be going anywhere, that's for sure.

"If there was to be an offer from somebody else, for either Costel or Vito, I'd probably call them in and say, 'What do you want to do? Does it suit you and does it suit us?'. If that happens, we'll talk about it, but it hasn't happened yet."

Allardyce's men face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup this afternoon.
