Daniel Didavi strike gives Stuttgart victory, moves club out of relegation zone

Stuttgart record a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Ingolstadt 04 to climb out of the relegation zone, thanks to a 59th-minute Daniel Didavi goal.

Stuttgart have moved out of the Bundesliga relegation zone with a hard-fought victory over FC Ingolstadt 04 that saw Daniel Didavi score the only goal of the tie.

The Reds survived an early scare as keeper Przemyslaw Tyton saved Matthew Leckie's penalty.

Tyton's opposing number Ramazan Ozcan then kept out a long-range Timo Werner effort.

Didavi was next to test the Austrian stopper, who made another save.

The second half saw Didavi finally break the deadlock, as the midfielder latched on to Florian Klein's cross before firing a 59th-minute strike past Ozcan.

Serey Die was shown his second yellow in the 86th minute but Stuttgart held out for the three points.

Alexander Zorniger's side climb out of the relegation zone to 15th with the victory, while Ingolstadt remain in eighth.
