Tottenham Hotspur are yet to decide if they want to keep Real Madrid's Gareth Bale at the club for the 2021-22 campaign, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly yet to decide whether they want to keep Gareth Bale on the books for the 2021-22 campaign.

The Real Madrid loanee initially struggled to adapt to life back in North London, but he has since rediscovered his best form having notched up braces against Burnley and Crystal Palace in recent weeks.

As things stand, Bale will be heading back to the Bernabeu when his time at Spurs comes to an end in June, but it is currently unclear what role he will play in Zinedine Zidane's plans for the new campaign if he does return to Spain.

According to Marca, Tottenham have not made a decision over Bale's future at the club, but they would have to sit down with Real to discuss the Welshman's wages if they do want to keep him on for next season.

The report claims that Jose Mourinho's side are currently forking out half of Bale's staggering £600k-per-week wages while he plies his trade in the Premier League, and more talks over the winger's salary would have to be made before a decision can be reached.

The 31-year-old, whose contract with Real Madrid is due to expire at the end of next season, has registered 10 goals and three assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this term.
