England captain Harry Kane draws level with Sir Bobby Charlton in the all-time scoring charts for the nation, with only Wayne Rooney ahead of him.

Harry Kane has moved level with Sir Bobby Charlton in England's all-time scorers list.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker scored England's second goal of the friendly against Switzerland this afternoon as the Three Lions came from behind to win 2-1.

The England captain's finish from the penalty spot drew him level with Charlton on 49 goals in the all-time list for the nation, with Wayne Rooney - on 53 - now the only player to have scored more.

Kane has reached his tally in just 68 appearances - 38 games fewer than Charlton - whereas Rooney took 120 games to set the current record, which Kane is now only four goals short of.

Breel Embolo had given Switzerland the lead in the 22nd minute of the game at Wembley, but Luke Shaw was able to respond just before half time, while Kane then wrapped things up later on in the game.

The 28-year-old will have the chance to add to his personal tally on Tuesday when Gareth Southgate's men face Ivory Coast in their next friendly.
