Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane may be ready to return to training after a hamstring operation in nine weeks, according to a leading sports medicine specialist.

A leading sports medicine specialist has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane may be ready to return to training in nine weeks.

On New Year's Day, Kane suffered a significant hamstring injury, which led to surgery and Spurs ruling their star man out until April.

Jose Mourinho has suggested that the England international may miss the rest of the season, putting his participation at Euro 2020 in doubt.

However, Michael Davison, head of international at Isokinetic Medical Group, feels that the striker should be available for the closing weeks of the campaign.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Davison said: "Of course there is always a small risk of post-op complications, and the first four weeks can be quite tiresome in the brace but thereafter it should be a relatively straightforward rehab process moving through the standard phases and utilising the gym and pool.

"I would expect him to be able to return to pitch based work around 10 to 12 weeks, and be available for selection by 14 weeks post operative."

Spurs are currently contemplating their options in attack, with AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek and Porto's Ze Luis having been linked with a switch to North London.
