Team News: Southampton hand trio debuts against Vitesse

Southampton hand debuts to Maarten Stekelenburg, Cedric Soares and Jordy Clasie ahead of their Europa League third qualifying round clash against Vitesse.

Southampton have handed debuts to three new players ahead of their Europa League third qualifying round clash against Vitesse at St Mary's Stadium.

Maarten Stekelenburg, Cedric Soares and Jordy Clasie all line up for the first time in a Saints shirt as their club prepares for their first European clash since 2003.

Jay Rodriguez will sit Thursday night's game out, meaning that his wait to play at Southampton's ground since March 2014 will continue.

Meanwhile the Dutch outfit, who have been eliminated at this stage of the Europa League in each of their last two participations, have four Chelsea players in their squad.

Blues quartet Izzy Brown, Lewis Baker, Nathan and Danilo Pantic are currently on loan at the GelreDome, with the first two in the starting XI against the Premier League side.

Southampton: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Fonte, Yoshida, Targett, Wanyama, Clasie, Davis, Tadic, Mane, Pelle
Subs: Gazzaniga, Long, Martina, Ward-Prowse, Reed, Juanmi, McCarthy

Vitesse: Room, Diks, Kashia, Leerdam, Achenteh, Baker, Nakamba, Vako, Brown, Djurdjevic, Oliinyk
