Kevin Bond: 'Richard Dunne red card was turning point'

Queens Park Rangers assistant manager Kevin Bond says that Richard Dunne's red card was the turning point in the 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Queens Park Rangers assistant manager Kevin Bond has insisted that Richard Dunne's red card was a "huge turning point" in their 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The game was goalless when referee Paul Tierney decided to send off Dunne and award a penalty after the defender had brought down Owls striker Leon Best in the box.

Chris Maguire slotted home from the spot, and goals from Best and Lewis Buxton wrapped up the win for the home side.

"It was a huge turning point in the game. We were comfortable and the red card turned it on its head," Bond is quoted as saying by Get West London.

"The issue was what happened after that. It was hugely disappointing because up until that point we were fine. We were on the attack and within 15 seconds they had a penalty and we were down to 10 men.

"We've spoken about it in the dressing room and we have to move on."

QPR are fourth, 10 points behind Burnley.
