Half-Time Report: Michael Higdon cancels out Bristol City lead

Sheffield United come from behind to head into half time level with Bristol City in League One.

Sheffield United have come from a goal down to head into half time level with Bristol City at Bramall Lane on the opening day of the League One season.

The hosts created the majority of the chances in the opening quarter of an hour, with the best falling to Ryan Flynn, but he could only fire his shot straight at Frank Fielding.

The Robins had an opportunity to open the scoring a few minutes later when Wade Elliott curled a free kick in toward Aden Flint, but he could not reach the ball for a simple header.

However, the visitors did take the lead just moments later when Mark Little struck the post, only for the rebound to fall kindly for Aaron Wilbraham to head in.

Nigel Clough's men came close to equalising before the half-hour mark when a Stefan Scougall effort was cleared off the line while Fielding denied Michael Higdon from a close-range header moments later.

Higdon, who joined the Blades earlier this week, did find the target shortly after though, pouncing on a free kick into the box to head past Fielding.

Scougall came close to putting the hosts ahead, but could only head over from a Flynn cross to leave the two sides level
