SBV Excelsior earn point at PEC Zwolle

SBV Excelsior bring an end to their two-game losing run in the Eredivisie with a 1-1 draw at PEC Zwolle.

SBV Excelsior have ended their two-game losing run in the Eredivisie thanks to a 1-1 draw at PEC Zwolle.

The hosts drew first blood on 37 minutes when Mustafa Saymak capped an impressive opening to the game by firing in.

However, Excelsior secured themselves a point just three minutes later as Jeff Stans beat goalkeeper Warner Hahn thanks to a smart finish with the outside of his boot.

Both teams went on the offensive after the break as Stef Nijland headed wide for Zwolle before Tom van Weert nodded straight at Hahn.

Excelsior goalkeeper Alessandro Damen was kept busy during the final stages as he denied Bram van Polen and Tomas Necid, but neither team was able to find what would have been a winner.
