Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Sociedad

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid will be looking for their third straight La Liga victory when they travel to top-four challengers Real Sociedad on Sunday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side have beaten Eibar and Valencia in their two matches since the 2019-20 campaign resumed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Los Blancos are currently just two points off league leaders Barcelona, although the Catalan giants will have the chance to stretch their advantage to five points when they face Sevilla on Friday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's clash.

Luka Jovic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Fractured foot
Possible return date: June 24 (vs. Mallorca)

Jovic has been unavailable for selection due to the fracture on his right foot that he picked up during the lockdown period. The Serbian has now returned to training, though, and could play a part in the team's next home league match against Mallorca on June 24.

Nacho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid revealed earlier this month that versatile defender Nacho had picked up a thigh injury during a training session. The capital giants did not mention a timeframe when they confirmed the Spaniard's problem, although he is not expected to return to action until the start of July.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Toe
Possible return date: June 21 (vs. Sociedad)

Mariano could again be unavailable for Zidane's side this weekend due to a toe injury. According to reports in Spain, the striker has been alternating between individual and group training over the last couple of weeks, and the problem is likely to keep him out of the clash with Sociedad.

Isco

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Isco, who was not involved against either Eibar or Valencia, will be unavailable until July due to a hamstring injury. A statement from Madrid revealed that the Spaniard's recovery "will continue to be assessed".

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Lucas Vazquez on Sunday as the experienced attacker nurses a calf problem. The Spaniard is out of this weekend's contest with Sociedad, and it is currently unclear when he might be able to return for the title challengers.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension concerns heading into Sunday's contest.
