David Templeton: 'I'm not a diver'

Rangers winger David Templeton insists his side should have been awarded a penalty during their draw with Stenhousemuir.

Rangers winger David Templeton has defended himself against suggestions that he dived to try and earn a penalty during his side's 3-3 draw against Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was booked midway through the first half by referee Greg Aitken, although the majority inside Ibrox believed that he was felled by Sean Lynch inside the area and Templeton is in no doubt as to what decision should have been given.

He told Rangers.co.uk: "For me, it was a stonewaller. I came inside the right-back and the centre-half came across but I managed to get by him too.

"I was in with a chance of goal and I don't know who it was that clipped me but it was a definite penalty. Their centre-half even said so himself to me.

"If the referee thinks there's not a lot of contact and it was maybe a bit soft that's fair enough but for me, that's not a booking because I've still not dived."

Rangers trailed twice to Stenhousemuir before the game finished in a draw.
