Reading ease past promotion contenders Queens Park Rangers

Goals from Danny Williams, Garath McCleary and Alex Pearce help Reading to a 3-1 win against Queens Park Rangers.

Reading have beaten Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at Loftus Road, despite playing the final 20 minutes of the Championship clash with 10 men.

The visitors took an early lead through Danny Williams, who powered a header back across goal and past Robert Green into the corner.

However, QPR weren't behind for long. Armand Traore got to the left byline and found Junior Hoilett, who in turn picked out William Keane. Reading were unable to clear and Kevin Doyle stabbed home.

Keane then had a chance to score his first Rangers goal, but flicked his header onto the roof of the net.

The home side were in control at this point and Hoilett saw his cross diverted against the outside of the near post.

The Royals went back in front when Alex Pearce headed in from close range, before Garath McCleary unleashed a 25-yard strike into the far top corner.

Doyle put the ball wide from close range as the hosts pushed hard for an equaliser. However, their afternoon got better with 70 minutes played.

Former QPR player Kaspars Gorkss jumped in late on Hoilett and was shown a red card, although Harry Redknapp's men were unable to make the most of their numerical advantage.
