Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp slams his side's "horrendous" defending during today's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that his side's slack defending cost them dear once more today against Newcastle United.

The Hoops suffered a 2-1 defeat at home this afternoon, despite taking the lead thanks to a penalty from Loic Remy.

Jose Bosingwa quickly concede a spot kick and was also at fault as Newcastle scored two goals before the break to earn a crucial victory.

Redknapp believes that the crowd's angry reaction towards Bosingwa was unnecessary but is understandable after a season full of disappointing results.

He told Sky Sports News: "They were horrendous goals, both of them. I thought it was a poor penalty and once we conceded the penalty we conceded another bad goal.

"It (crowd reaction to Bosingwa) was not going to help anyone. It was negative. He made a couple of errors but he didn't mean to do it and I took him off because we needed the crowd to be with us.

"People pay their money, we all get grief at some stages but it has been a miserable season."

QPR are bottom of the Premier League table ahead of their final match in the top flight against Liverpool next weekend.
