Simon Grayson satisfied with Preston North End start

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson says that he is happy with the start his side have made in the Championship.

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has stated that he is pleased with the start his side have made in the Championship.

The Lillywhites, who won promotion from League One last season, have picked up five points from their first five league games of the season.

Grayson has said that the players have acquitted themselves well in the second tier so far.

"We set out at start of the season to make sure we embrace it and enjoy it," Clubcall.com quotes him as saying.

"The first game of the season we held Middlesbrough - the favourites for the division - to a 0-0 draw. It gave the players that belief they can go and compete and we got good results away to Rotherham and MK Dons.

"The last two defeats against Ipswich and Hull, both teams will tell you we could quite easily have won those games. Both teams knew they'd been in a game and changed their systems to deal with us. We were disappointed not to pick up points with how well we played. "So I'm pleased with the start but we've got a lot of work to do."

Preston currently sit 17th in the table.
