Carl McHugh unfazed by Plymouth Argyle form

Plymouth Argyle midfielder Carl McHugh remains confident that his side can return to winning ways in time for the upcoming festive fixtures in League Two.

Carl McHugh has insisted that Plymouth Argyle will soon recover from their shaky spell of form in order to push on over the festive period.

The Pilgrims are locked in a three-way battle at the top of League Two, despite taking just two points from the last nine on offer.

While the wheels may have shown signs of falling off in recent weeks, McHugh remains confident that Plymouth are well positioned to earn a return back to the third tier.

Asked about the hectic run of games over the next month, the 22-year-old said: "We're really looking forward to it. It's a massive opportunity for us to get some points on the board, and we're raring to go.

"We want to kick on now and stay up at the top of the table. We've done really well so far this season. We may've had a little blip in the last few games but we've done really well over the course of the season and we're nearly at the midway point. We want to go on now and stay at the top of the league."

Argyle face Cambridge United, Hartlepool United, Yeovil Town and Newport County before the year is out.
