Alex Neil: 'Norwich City want to keep Cameron Jerome'

Norwich City boss Alex Neil insists that he has no intention of selling Cameron Jerome to Middlesbrough in January.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has claimed that he has no intention of allowing Cameron Jerome to leave the club in January.

Jerome has been a regular in the Norwich side since playing a key role in guiding the Canaries to the Premier League, but reports have suggested that Middlesbrough are prepared to pay £8m to secure the services of the 29-year-old.

However, Neil insists that he is eager to keep Jerome with less than a month remaining before the transfer window opens.

"Cameron is one of our strikers who has played quite a lot of games for us," the Norwich boss told reporters. "He is an important part of the squad for us.

"That is the first I have heard of that. Off the top of my head at the moment Cameron is an important player and we are not looking to let our best players leave. That is the situation."

Jerome has scored two goals in 14 league games this season.
