Marseille interested in Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa?

Reports in France claim that Marseille are keen to sign Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from Newcastle United.

Ligue 1 side Marseille have reportedly entered the chase for Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who looks likely to leave the club after just 18 months with the Magpies.

Reports earlier in the week claimed that Newcastle were looking to offload the player and had revealed his availability to French sides in the hope of recouping some of the £8.5m that they paid.

Bordeaux were thought to be the initial favourites for the player's signature, but according to French newspaper La Provence Marseille are very keen on a bid.

Yanga-Mbiwa has played 28 times in the Premier League for Newcastle in his time there so far.
