West Ham United planning Manchester United raid?

West Ham United reportedly consider an approach for Manchester United duo Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard, both of whom have struggled to impress this season.

West Ham United are reportedly considering an approach for Manchester United duo Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard.

The two England internationals have struggled to make an impression under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season and could allegedly be moved on by the Red Devils this summer.

According to The Independent, David Moyes is keen to reunite with Jones and Lingard at West Ham, having worked with the pair during his brief stint as Man United manager.

However, an approach for the players could supposedly be hindered by a number of roadblocks, as Jones penned a four-year deal at Old Trafford last summer while Lingard is said to be keen to fight for his place in Solskjaer's starting lineup.

Furthermore, West Ham are embroiled in a relegation battle as they lie four points above the bottom three, and the report claims that the signing of Jones and Lingard would be unlikely to come to fruition if the Hammers drop down to the Championship.

While Jones still has three years left to run on his current deal at Old Trafford, Lingard will see his contract expire next summer.
