Manchester United are reportedly scouting Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic as they prepare for potentially losing David de Gea next summer.

Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic as a potential replacement for David de Gea.

The Red Devils have been expecting De Gea to sign a new contract at Old Trafford for weeks, but the Spaniard still has not put pen to paper.

The 28-year-old's contract only has one more year left to run and it is believed that a key factor leading to him stalling over signing improved terms is a common clause at Old Trafford indicating that the player would receive a 25% pay decrease should United fail to secure Champions League football this season.

According to The Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been looking at other goalkeepers just in case they lose De Gea next summer, with Livakovic having impressed scouts as Dinamo Zagreb beat Rosenborg 2-0 in their Champions League playoff round first leg.

The 24-year-old Croatian has also been on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham, and would cost in the region of £15m to 20m.

Livakovic is now Croatia's number one goalkeeper, having usurped Monaco stopper Danijel Subasic earlier this year.
