Manchester United 'back in talks with David de Gea over £350,000-a-week deal'

David de Gea is to be offered the £350,000-a-week deal he has been holding out for to keep him at Manchester United for another five years, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to meet David de Gea's wage demands in order to put an end to the long-running contract saga.

The Spanish goalkeeper is due to become a free agent in a year's time after so far refusing to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

De Gea was allegedly offered £300,000 a week at the turn of the year to stay on beyond 2020 - £50,000 below the amount he has been holding out for.

According to The Sun, however, talks between the two parties have now resumed and United are confident of getting the 28-year-old to sign a five-year deal.

Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with De Gea, whose form has dipped since last summer's World Cup in Russia, but he has never asked to leave the club.

Ex-Atletico Madrid stopper De Gea has been named United's Player of the Year four times in his eight seasons at Old Trafford.
