Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata is reportedly on the radar of several La Liga clubs as he prepares to become a free agent in the summer.

Manchester United outcast Juan Mata is reportedly on the radar of several La Liga clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old has made just four appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this season and is widely expected to leave when his deal expires at the end of the season.

Mata extended his Old Trafford stay for another season just last summer but is still waiting for his first Premier League appearance of the campaign, with Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer overlooking the Spaniard for top-flight minutes.

According to The Athletic, Mata is set to head for the exit door ahead of the 2022-23 season, and numerous clubs in Spain's top flight have already submitted enquiries over the former Chelsea man.

The report adds that there is 'confusion' as to why Rangnick has not been giving minutes to Mata this term, but the playmaker believes that he still has a lot to give in Europe's top leagues.

Mata boasts a total of 51 goals and 47 assists in 277 games for the Red Devils across all tournaments since arriving from Chelsea in the summer of 2014.
