Barcelona are reportedly in talks to re-sign Manchester United's 19-year-old right-back Marc Jurado.

Barcelona are reportedly in talks to re-sign Manchester United youngster Marc Jurado.

The 19-year-old right-back spent nine years in Barca's famous La Masia youth academy between 2011 and 2020 before rejecting a contract extension with the La Liga giants to join Man United.

Jurardo penned his first professional contract with the Red Devils in April 2021 before making his first appearance for the club's Under-21s side in the same month in a 3-2 Premier League 2 loss to West Ham United.

The two-cap Spain Under-20s international has since featured regularly for Man United Under-21s, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 23 Premier League 2 matches last season, as well as featuring in five EFL trophy games.

Jurado has trained with Erik ten Hag's first team and he was named on the substitutes' bench for the first time in April this year for the 2-0 Premier League win away against Nottingham Forest.

However, the Catalan-born defender is yet to make a senior appearance for Man United and he has now emerged as a possible target for his former club Barca.

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, Barcelona have entered negotiations with Man United over a deal to re-sign Jurado this summer.

The report adds that the La Liga champions are looking to negotiate a fee for the teenager based on a series of performance-related objectives.

The club's hierarchy intend to integrate Jurado into the Barca Atletic youth side managed by former defender Rafael Marquez, who recently extended his contract until the summer of 2024.

Marquez exceeded expectations in his debut campaign in charge of Barca Atletic, who won 17, drew 13 and lost 10 games in the 1a Federacion before losing out to Real Madrid Castilla in the playoffs.

While Barca are looking to recruit young prospects for the future, first-team head coach Xavi is still in the market to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

The cash-strapped Catalan giants are unable to pursue all of their big-money primary targets this summer, but they have still managed to make three signings in the form of Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez and Vitor Roque, the former two arriving on free transfers.

Man United, meanwhile, have strengthened their squad with the addition of midfielder Mason Mount and are also allegedly closing in on the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
