Team News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts for Manchester United against Bristol City

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes his first start since recovering from a serious knee injury in the EFL Cup tie at Bristol City.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has handed a starting role to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the club's EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Bristol City.

Ibrahimovic has been involved in the first-team squad for a number of weeks after his recovery from a serious knee injury, but the Swede is getting his first chance to impress from the opening whistle.

Mourinho has also selected Paul Pogba after the midfielder completed his three-match ban, while Luke Shaw is handed a rare start in the side.

Sergio Romero starts in goal, and Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind are also given rare opportunities fin the starting lineup, despite being linked with an exit from Old Trafford.

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has decided to make just one change to the team which began the Championship win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

The switch comes in goal, with Luke Steele replacing Frank Fielding having already started in victories in the previous rounds over Stoke City and Crystal Palace.
