Paris Saint-Germain pair Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are reportedly being talked into staying at the club amid links with a move away.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly trying to convince Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to stick with them and achieve their aim of winning the Champions League for the club.

The attacking pair - the world's two most expensive footballers - have been tipped to depart the Parc des Princes either this summer or in a year's time.

Real Madrid are known to be interested in long-term target Mbappe, as are Manchester City, while Neymar came close to returning to former club Barcelona last season.

However, French football expert Jonathan Johnson claims that PSG are hopeful of talking both players out of joining a new club.

"PSG are trying to convince the likes of Neymar and Mbappe that they are the club to stick with it," he told Sky Sports News. "They just reached the Champions League final and have shown progress on the continental stage.

"Mbappe is a key part of their strategy but the player wants to see the club pushing seriously for Champions League success.

"With the current economic situation it is proving difficult for PSG to attract the calibre of star they need to boost their squad.

"There is plenty for PSG and Mbappe to work towards in the next couple of months but the reports he has told them he wants to leave are premature."

PSG have lost their opening two games of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign, with Neymar being sent off against Marseille on Sunday and Mbappe yet to feature.
