Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu claims that 'the door is always open' for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to return to Camp Nou.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has refused to rule out the possibility of a second spell at Camp Nou for Pep Guardiola.

Between 2008 and 2012, Guardiola enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at the Catalan giants, which included three La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns.

While the Spaniard is currently midway through his fourth campaign at Manchester City, doubts remain over how long the 48-year-old will stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite the pressure having eased on current boss Ernesto Valverde, Bartomeu has suggested that Guardiola would be welcomed back at the Spanish outfit in the future.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Bartomeu said: "It doesn't depend on me. It was Pep who decided to leave, but the door will always be open for him at Barca."

Guardiola's contract at City is due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
