Plymouth Argyle earn narrow win at Luton Town

Dominic Blizzard's second-half goal gives Plymouth Argyle a 1-0 win away to Luton Town in League Two.

Plymouth Argyle have earned a second consecutive win in League Two with a narrow 1-0 victory at Luton Town.

The hosts carved out two openings during the early stages of the match, but Luke Gutteridge was denied twice by goalkeeper Luke McCormick.

Plymouth's first genuine chance came soon after when Lewis Alessandra's low effort was kept out, while Mark Cullen shot narrowly wide at the other end.

With both teams having failed to hit the target in the first half, Pelly Ruddock and Carl McHugh both missed decent opportunities early on in the second period.

However, Plymouth finally made the breakthrough on 68 minutes as Dominic Blizzard showed quick feet on the edge of the box before firing into the bottom corner.

The away side were appealing for a penalty with around 15 minutes remaining when it looked as if the ball had been handled in the box, but the referee waved play on.
